Engineers Street Crane Launch New Talent Programme to Secure Recruitment

6th Mar 2013 16:47:00

To meet the current and future need for professional engineers, Street Crane Company, the UK's largest industrial crane and hoist producer, has launched their young talent programme. There are three levels of entry: junior engineers at post A-level/ONC, undergraduate engineers who have completed their first year of a BEng degree and graduate engineers seeking their first professional appointment.

Leader of the programme, director of development, Chris Russell, commented, "Street Crane is a growing company that offers great career opportunities for talented engineers. Our market share in the UK and overseas has increased substantially in recent years and we continue to invest in new factory crane and hoist development for world markets. We recognise talent and many of our senior people have come up through the company, advancing by developing their skills to build rewarding careers.

Junior engineers will join the company as trainees. Engaged in real projects they will be sponsored through HNC/D and possibly on to degree courses if they show the potential. Undergraduate engineers are invited to apply for sponsored training places. Under this scheme the company will offer some support for tuition fees, vacation experience and industrial placement as part of the degree programme. On graduation these engineers will be invited to join the company. Street Crane is also keen to hear from recently qualified graduate engineers for whom they have a variety of interesting positions available immediately.

HR manager Kathy Travis explained, ìWe have had some problems in the past recruiting the right people at the right time. This programme will integrate with the general development plan for the business so that we can bring on talented individuals who we can move into appropriate positions as the company develops. Street Crane is a family business with a positive ethos. We offer competitive salaries, good conditions of employment and can demonstrate an excellent record of employee retention and progression.
